Preppy Argyle Quilt

Our youngest granddaughter came from out of state to spend a week.  We decided to make a quilt.  She chose the free pattern Preppy, a Five Fat Quarter Fun Pattern by A Bright Corner.  She picked out her favorite colors of green and blue with some awesome grunge as well.

We worked nonstop for 3 days. With a few pattern modifications, we were able to use Accuquilt for cutting most of the pieces.  I pinned everything together and she sewed every stitch.

This was the very first quilt on my long arm. We were fortunate to find some bubbled minky for the backing that coordinated with the other fabrics. We practiced quilting on a scrap piece of fabric and settled on the Sunflower Love design in the Handi-Quilter Pro-stitcher.  I won’t entertain you with the challenges, as there were many, but we completed it!

She chose a scrappy binding with a decorative stitch. She loves her quilt and her parents were super impressed with the accomplishment.
