Entryway Table

This piece is probably my favorite transformation.  Again, another fabulous find at a secondhand store. The design was dated, but had great bones.

My first Annie Chalk Paint coat was black allover and then I layered a light gray over the top.  I used decals for flair and thought it was pretty ingenious to have them spill over the drawer fronts onto the base.  Again, I sanded and wet-sponged down to the black to mimic age.  I was pleased with the addition of crackle, as well as the circle I incorporated to look like a cup often set there.

I used the clear wax with ribbons of brown as well…applied right over the decals.  I even took out the drawer inserts and gave them a small facelift.

Changing out the old hardware to new bin pulls gave it the defining finish.  Originally this table was in my craft room, but items were so stacked on it, it didn’t get an opportunity to shine. Now it’s in the master bedroom and functions as a TV stand with lots of nice storage. Oh yes, it does make my heart sing.
