Linda
Twice-retired US Army Master Sergeant and civilian desktop team manager, Linda has fully embraced quilting as a full-time hobby and now finds herself busier than ever. Batiks are her favorite fabrics to work with and if they are some shade of purple, even better. You’re most likely to find her behind her Bernina sewing machine or her Handi Quilter longarm, but she also wields a pretty mighty paintbrush, so be sure to keep an eye out for her refurbished chalk-painted pieces. No matter what Linda is working on at any given moment, you won’t find her far from her favorite mug of hot tea.
Dixie
A homemaker and homeschooling mama with two teenagers, Dixie hasn’t met many crafts she doesn’t like. Crochet and knitting were her main hobby interests for years and even led to occasional experiments with fiber dyeing and spinning. She accidentally took up quilting during the pandemic when (like everyone else) she dusted off her sewing machine to sew masks. Scraps are all you could really get your hands on during that time and scrappy is still her favorite! Dixie is also our website admin here at Cape Mae’s. Please be patient while she learns her away around. It’s been a minute.
Josie
A fifth-generation “Mae”, Josie is our resident rock climber and was recently lead certified. When she’s not on the walls, she likes to explore all types of visual arts. Some of her more recent projects have been in pencil, charcoal, oil pastels, and acrylic paints. We’re more amazed with each project she completes! Even though she’s a busy high school teenager (in case the converse sneakers didn’t make it obvious), she still manages to make time to spend with her family and join in their craft adventures, whether it be creating with yarn or completing another quilt block of the month.
